Teaching Personnel are working with a co-educational secondary school located in Portsmouth, seeking a teacher of to join the Humanities department as soon as possible.

This Portsmouth-based secondary school serves students aged 11 to 16 and is part of a respected local academy trust. Rated “Good” by Ofsted, it’s known for its inclusive ethos, strong pastoral care, and commitment to high expectations. Staff-student relationships are a key strength, fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
The curriculum is broad and ambitious, with a focus on knowledge retention and life skills. Students benefit from a wide range of enrichment opportunities, including sports, music, leadership programmes, and community involvement. Careers guidance is particularly strong, helping pupils make informed choices about their futures.
The role:
The school are seeking a fully qualified teacher who specialises in Geography and/or Religious Studies, to teach across KS3 and KS4, and take on full teaching responsibilities including planning, marking and any parents’ evenings as and when required. There may also be some Sociology or Psychology teaching within the timetable. The appointed teacher would be required to start as soon as possible until at least Christmas 2025. This is a full-time role, but the school may consider part time options for the right educator.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
