Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate Geography Teacher to join a secondary school in Chadderton, Oldham. If you have a passion for Geography and are eager to inspire students to understand the world around them, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

As a Geography Teacher, you will have the chance to teach a range of topics, including physical geography, human geography, and environmental studies. Your lessons will inspire students to think critically about the world’s most pressing issues, from climate change to urbanization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Geography across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4

  • Develop engaging lessons that inspire students to understand the world around them

  • Help students develop critical thinking skills by discussing global issues

  • Track and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support

  • Support students in preparing for GCSE exams

  • Contribute to extracurricular activities, such as field trips and geography clubs

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • A degree in Geography or a related subject

  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to engage students with real-world geographical issues

  • A passion for teaching and a commitment to student development

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
