Geography Teacher – Durham Maternity Cover (1 Year)

Teaching Personnel are seeking a Geography teacher to undertake a full time, fixed term (1 year) maternity cover position commencing in January 2026, based in a reputable Durham secondary school.

Location: Durham

Start Date: January 2026

Contract: Full-Time, Fixed-Term (Maternity Cover)

Pay: MPS1 – UPS3

Responsibilities:

  • Providing dynamic and high-standard Geography instruction across KS3 and KS4
  • Implementing effective classroom management strategies, maintaining excellent behavioural expectations and discipline
  • Establishing a welcoming and supportive learning atmosphere
  • Demonstrating dedication to pupil achievement and welfare

We're Looking For Someone Who:

  • Possesses QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent qualification
  • Has background teaching Geography at secondary level
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm, innovation, and commitment to improving student outcomes
  • Shows capability in designing and implementing differentiated instruction

The school is situated in the Durham area making it readily accessible from surrounding regions. Educators residing in central Durham will find excellent public transport connections.
