Geography teacher required for mixed comprehensive Secondary school in Bury.

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting on behalf of our client Secondary school in the Bury LEA. The school require a full time Geography teacher to join their faculty following the May half term period to cover a 12 month Maternity leave (w/c 3rd June).

This full time temporary position is open to Geography and Humanities teachers who have experience teaching Geography to both Key Stage Three and GCSE level.

  • Full time temporary teacher of Geography required, June start.
  • Maternity cover for 12 months, teaching Geography across KS3 and GCSE
  • Pay in line with teaching scale point (£22,917 - £38,633 per annum)
  • Large mixed comprehensive Secondary school in central Bury
  • Welcoming applications from newly qualified and experienced Geography teachers

The incoming Geography teacher will be required to teach students from Key Stage Three and GCSE across the ability range, with excellent resources and schemes of work in place. The successful Geography teacher will be provided with regular CPD and progression opportunities within this improving department.

This is a well established Secondary school in the heart of Bury town centre with excellent public transportation links from both central Manchester and Rochdale. For those with their own transport, the school is just a short drive from the M66 making the surrounding areas; Rochdale, Prestwich, Bolton and Rossendale easily commutable. Ofsted describe students to have 'good behaviour and highly positive attitudes which makes the school a safe, friendly and harmonious place.'

The school serves a diverse catchment area, and the ethos is based upon encouraging pupils to grow academically, socially and spiritually. The school currently meets the governments' floor standards for expectations for progress and attainment.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
