Geography Teacher
Job description
eaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a qualified Geography teacher to deliver 1:1 GCSE tuition within a low-level SEMH provision located in Harwood (BL2), situated between Bolton and Bury.
This is a rewarding, long-term opportunity ideal for a teacher looking to work outside of the mainstream classroom in a setting that supports students with additional social, emotional and mental health needs.
Role Details:

Subject: GCSE Geography

Specification: AQA or Edexcel

Delivery: 1:1 tuition on-site at the provision

Hours: 2 hours per week (flexible – either two 1-hour sessions or one 2-hour block)

Days: Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday (your choice)

Duration: Full academic year

Pay: In line with the teacher pay scale (MPS/UPS), depending on experience
About the Provision:
This unique SEMH setting is based on a 5-acre therapeutic farm designed to offer a calm, nurturing environment for students with low-level SEMH needs. The provision is home to over 30 animals, including alpacas, goats, emus, donkeys, and chickens, all of which are cared for by the students as part of their wider curriculum.

This immersive setting supports the development of life skills, independence, and emotional wellbeing alongside academic progress.
Candidate Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS)

Experience teaching Geography at GCSE level
-
A patient, flexible, and engaging teaching style

Interest in or understanding of SEMH and alternative education

Confident delivering lessons 1:1 and tailoring content to student needs

Ongoing support from a dedicated SEN/SEMH consultant

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
