Reception Class Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Widnes)

Start Date: January
Location: Widnes
Contract: Full-time, Term-time (until end of academic year)

Pay Rate: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour (depending on experience)

Are you passionate about supporting young learners at the very start of their educational journey? Do you have experience delivering Read Write Inc phonics and creating a nurturing environment for early years pupils? If so, this is the perfect role for you!

We are seeking a Reception Class Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Widnes from January through to the end of the academic year. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact during a crucial stage of development.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Early Years Support: Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities tailored to Reception pupils.
  • Phonics Delivery: Lead and support Read Write Inc sessions, helping children develop strong early reading and writing skills.
  • Individualised Support: Provide one-to-one and small group interventions to ensure every child thrives.
  • Creating a Positive Environment: Foster a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom where children feel confident and happy.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working in EYFS, ideally Reception.
  • Read Write Inc training or experience is essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A caring, patient, and proactive approach to supporting young learners.
