Teaching Personnel are looking for an FULLY QUALIFIED TEACHER to join a school in Thatcham (RG19) that caters for students with Autism. 

As a Teacher, you’ll work with neurodiverse young people (Aged between 7 - 16) that have additional needs related to communication and interaction, cognition and learning, sensory and/or physical needs.

The school likes to take a holistic approach to education, supporting children with their social, emotional, and mental health development, helping them to gain transferable life skills that are essential for their transition into adulthood.

A typical class is made up of five pupils, so you’ll have the chance to really get to know the pupils you support and connect with them.

The successful applicant will be a FULLY QUALIFIED TEACHER (with QTS status) with experience of helping students reach their full potential. 

You will be passionate about helping others and being a positive role model. 

You will be responsible for planning, teaching and assessing lessons in a class of your own. As a general teacher, you may be expected to support and in a range of subjects, based on a primary curriculum model.

To be a successful Teacher you’ll need:

  • Patience, compassion, and resilience – The pupils you teach will be neurodiverse, which can impact their learning behaviour and communication needs.
  • Great communication skills – Both verbal and written communication is important in this role as you’ll be speaking to a lot of different people at different times. You’ll need to be able to contribute to a range of resources as well as share information effectively.
  • A clean driving licence would be desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
