General Cover Teacher

Job description

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting a secondary level teacher for SEN schools in Southampton.

The school is a rewarding behavioural & learning needs school working with SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) pupils in small nurturing groups to help them through a differentiated curriculum. All specialised subjects are welcome.

The Role:

Hours: 8:30 - 15:30, Monday - Friday

Salary offered will vary between GBP100 - GBP130 per day dependant on experience.

The Candidate:

The candidate must be a fully qualified teacher.

The ideal candidate should have experience or passion of working closely with pupils with social and behavioural difficulties. Also, to be comfortable mentoring students in close nurturing groups.

Candidates without direct professional experience with SEN pupils may still be suitable to this school if they have personal experience from any the following: 

  • Youth or community work experience
  • Residential support or care worker
  • Sports coaching
  • Youth Offending Services
  • Challenging behaviour within family

Teaching personnel can offer ample training through our CPD Academy for any successful candidate to help them transfer these personal experiences into professional skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
