Job description

GCSE Tutor (SEN) – Northallerton (DL7)

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate GCSE Tutor (SEN) to provide high-quality, one-to-one tuition to students in the Northallerton (DL7) area. This role involves supporting young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them build confidence, develop their skills, and achieve their academic potential.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a positive difference through personalised learning.

The Role:

  • Deliver engaging 1:1 GCSE tuition tailored to each student's individual learning needs.
  • Support students with a range of SEN, adapting teaching strategies to suit their learning styles.
  • Plan and deliver structured, engaging lessons in English, Maths, or other GCSE subjects.
  • Build positive relationships that encourage confidence, independence, and engagement.
  • Monitor progress and provide regular feedback.

Requirements:

  • Experience teaching or tutoring GCSE students.
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
  • Strong knowledge of the GCSE curriculum.
  • Patient, adaptable, and able to manage a variety of learning needs and behaviours.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
