Maths and English Tutor – Support Students to Succeed

Are you passionate about helping children and young people build confidence and achieve their academic potential? TP Tutors is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Maths and English Tutor to provide high-quality one-to-one tuition to students in the York (YO26) area.

This rewarding role involves supporting students who require additional help in Maths and English, whether they are catching up on missed learning, preparing for SATs or GCSEs, or working towards individual learning goals. The role offers flexible, part-time hours during weekdays, making it ideal for qualified teachers, experienced tutors, or education professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging one-to-one tuition in Maths and English.
• Plan and tailor lessons to meet each student's individual learning needs and academic targets.
• Support students in developing subject knowledge, confidence, and essential literacy and numeracy skills.
• Monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies to maximise learning outcomes.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

Requirements

• Experience teaching or tutoring Maths and English.
• Strong subject knowledge and the ability to teach Primary and/or Secondary learners.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A patient, adaptable, and learner-centred approach.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Right to work in the UK.
