Teaching Personnel are looking for Cover Supervisors to work within secondary schools across Cardiff and South Wales. The role of the Cover Supervisor is to supervise the class whilst they complete tasks set by the teacher.

In the absence of the usual Teacher the lessons will be pre-set and you will be asked to deliver the lesson confidently.

No formal qualification is required for this role however we do welcome applicants from graduates of any specialism.

If you have previous classroom experience as a Teaching Assistant and would like this opportunity to develop your behaviour management skills then this could be the ideal role for you.

Cover Supervisors will be required to manage groups of around 30 students independently while delivering the work set to a high standard, answering any questions to the best of their ability that students may have surrounding the tasks set. You do not have to have prior knowledge of the subject however a good level of understanding pupils needs in order to feed back to the permanent Teacher is essential.

You will be expected to:

• Provide cover for morning registration
• Deliver lessons that have been set by the permanent member of staff
• Manage all pupil behaviour ensuring a safe working environment for all
• Provide students with a positive learning environment so as to aid student progress
• Deal with any issues, whether behavioural or otherwise, in the appropriate manner.
