Functional Skills Tutor – Manchester

We're seeking a dedicated Functional Skills Tutor to support learners across Manchester, helping them develop essential English and Maths skills to achieve their educational, employment, and personal goals.

Whether you're an experienced tutor, qualified teacher, or education professional, this is a fantastic opportunity to deliver meaningful 1:1 support and make a lasting impact.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver engaging 1:1 Functional Skills tuition in English and/or Maths.
  • Plan lessons tailored to each learner's ability, goals, and learning style.
  • Support learners in building confidence and progressing towards Functional Skills qualifications.
  • Track progress and provide regular feedback.
  • Create a positive, encouraging, and inclusive learning environment.

We're Looking For

  • Experience teaching or tutoring Functional Skills English and/or Maths.
  • A strong understanding of Functional Skills curricula and assessment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, adaptable, and learner-centred approach.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • The right to work in the UK.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
