Functional Skills Tutor – Macclesfield (SK11)

Location: Macclesfield, SK11
Position: Functional Skills Tutor
Hours: Part-time / Full-time (Monday to Friday - School hours)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Functional Skills Tutor to provide high-quality educational support to learners in the Macclesfield (SK11) area. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on students' academic progress and confidence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging Functional Skills lessons in English and/or Maths.
  • Plan and tailor learning programmes to meet individual student needs.
  • Support learners in achieving their educational goals and qualifications.
  • Monitor progress and provide regular feedback.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Work closely with parents, carers, schools, and other professionals where required.

Requirements

  • Experience teaching or tutoring Functional Skills, English, and/or Maths.
  • Strong understanding of Functional Skills curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Experience supporting learners with additional needs, including SEN, is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage and motivate learners of varying abilities.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Full right to work in the UK.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, DTLLS, PTLLS, or equivalent).
  • Relevant degree or subject-specific qualification.
  • Experience working within education, tutoring, or alternative provision settings.
