Are you an experienced educator passionate about helping learners develop essential skills and achieve their qualifications? We are seeking a dedicated Functional Skills Tutor to provide personalised one-to-one tuition to students in Bacup (OL13), Lancashire.

The Role

As a Functional Skills Tutor, you will support students in developing their English and Maths Functional Skills, tailoring lessons to their individual learning needs. You may work with learners who require additional support, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN/SEND), helping them overcome barriers to learning and build confidence.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging one-to-one Functional Skills tuition in English and Maths.
• Plan and adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs and abilities.
• Support learners with SEN/SEND where required.
• Monitor progress and provide regular feedback on achievement and development.
• Build confidence, independence, and essential life skills.
• Create a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of teaching experience in the UK is essential.
• Experience delivering Functional Skills or core subject tuition.
• Experience supporting learners with SEN/SEND is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of Functional Skills English and Maths.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Right to work in the UK.
