Functional Skills Tutor - Bacup, Lancashire (OL13)

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Functional Skills Tutor to provide 1:1 tuition to learners in the Bacup (OL13) area of Lancashire.

This rewarding role involves supporting students in Functional Skills English and Maths, helping them develop essential literacy and numeracy skills, improve confidence, and achieve their learning goals. Experience working with Special Educational Needs (SEN) learners is essential.

The Role:

• Deliver tailored 1:1 Functional Skills tuition in English and Maths
• Assess learner needs and create individualised learning plans
• Adapt teaching strategies to support different learning styles and abilities
• Support learners with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
• Monitor progress and complete session reports following each lesson
• Prepare learners for Functional Skills assessments and qualifications

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or relevant tutoring/teaching experience
• Experience delivering Functional Skills English and Maths
• Strong understanding of Functional Skills curricula and assessment requirements
• Previous experience supporting learners with SEN (essential)
• Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

Pay: £25-£30+ per hour (dependent on experience)
