Full time Special Needs Teacher Bradford

Date posted : 24/06/19
£110 - £150 per day

Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

Teaching Personnel are looking to appoint a specialist teacher on a full time basis within a Special Needs school in Bradford, commencing September 2019. This is a temporary, maternity cover position and you will be required until July 2020. The school is situated just outside of Little Horton and caters for pupils aged 11-19 with a range of Special Educational Needs including Autism Spectrum Conditions, Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties and Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities.

Although catering for secondary aged pupils, the school follows a primary model. Classes are grouped according to pupils' needs and abilities, and you will be required to teach across the curriculum. You will be required on a full time basis, to work across several classes in school.

Learning opportunities are appropriately structured for students throughout their school journeys to enable them to become valued members of the wider community with positive self-worth. They are supported to reach their full potential within a gradient of independence, confidence and resilience so that they have the ability to face the challenges of adult life.

The successful applicant will have previous experience of working with pupils with complex needs and will have evidence of planning and delivering an engaging and well differentiated curriculum.

If you are an excellent classroom practitioner, love working alongside challenging students, building relationships and maintaining trust, this could be the job for you.

Applicants will possess the following:

  • A formal teaching qualification with QTS
  • Experience of working with students with complex needs (PMLD/SLD/MLD/ASC)
  • Evidence of delivering a well differentiated curriculum
  • Enthusiasm and willingness to be part of a great team

You must be available to attend a registration with Teaching Personnel in June 2019, and to attend an interview with the school before the Summer break.
