What you’ll be doing:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons across Years 5–8 (Key Stages 2 and 3).
  • Design creative and challenging learning experiences that inspire confidence in reading, writing, and communication.
  • Track and assess pupil progress to ensure every learner is supported and challenged appropriately.
  • Foster a classroom culture where curiosity, respect, and enthusiasm for learning thrive.

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through clubs, trips, and enrichment activities.

What we’re looking for:

  • A qualified and passionate teacher (QTS or equivalent).
  • Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for English and literacy.
  • Experience teaching Key Stage 2 and/or Key Stage 3.
  • A creative and flexible approach to planning and delivery.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a genuine commitment to pupil development.
  • A desire to contribute to the warm, caring ethos of an independent school community.

You should Apply for this role because:

  • The small class sizes allow for meaningful teaching and individual attention.
  • It’s a beautiful setting and inspiring working environment.
  • You will have supportive leadership and a collaborative staff culture.
  • Competitive salary, reflective of experience.
  • Theres lots of opportunities for professional growth and curriculum development.
