Cover Supervisor - Northampton

Role Overview: As a Cover Supervisor, you will be a pivotal member of the teaching and support staff team, responsible for overseeing classes in the absence of regular teachers. Your primary objective will be to ensure that all learning activities run smoothly, students remain engaged, and the classroom environment remains conducive to learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage classrooms during teacher absences, ensuring students remain on task and maintain a respectful learning atmosphere.
  • Deliver pre-set lesson plans and provide support to students in completing tasks.
  • Manage student behaviour in accordance with the school's behaviour policies, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Maintain accurate registers and records of student attendance and any significant incidents.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure the smooth delivery of the curriculum during absences.
  • Support the school's commitment to safeguarding and child protection, reporting any concerns promptly to designated staff.

Requirements:

  • A passion for education and a genuine interest in working with young people.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with students effectively.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in various subjects and year groups as required.
  • Confidence in managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar educational role is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
