Forest School Learning Support Assistant – South Brent
Hours: 8:30am – 4:00pm | Outdoor-Based Role

We are currently recruiting a Forest School Learning Support Assistant to work at a welcoming setting in South Brent. This is a unique opportunity for someone passionate about outdoor learning, nature, and supporting children in a hands-on, creative environment.

This role is entirely outdoors, supporting pupils through Forest School–based learning experiences that promote confidence, wellbeing, and engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting children during daily Forest School sessions

  • Encouraging exploration, teamwork, and independence through outdoor activities

  • Assisting with nature-based learning such as den building, fire safety activities, tool use (where trained), and environmental projects

  • Supporting pupils’ emotional, social, and behavioural development

  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing outdoor environment

  • Following Forest School principles and safeguarding procedures

  • Supporting learning through play, movement, and outdoor discovery

  • Working closely with Forest School Leaders and teaching staff

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children (essential)

  • A passion for outdoor education and learning through nature

  • Comfortable working outside in all weather conditions

  • Positive, energetic, and adaptable approach

  • Forest School qualification or outdoor learning experience (desirable but not essential)

  • Strong awareness of safety and risk management outdoors

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday

  • 8:30am – 4:00pm

  • Term-time only

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
