Location: Wolverhampton 

Start Date: September 2025

Salary: MPS/UPS  (based on experience)


 

About the role:

Are you passionate about food, nutrition, and inspiring creativity in the kitchen? We are working with a successful secondary school in Wolverhampton that is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Food Technology Teacher to join their Design & Technology department. This is an exciting opportunity to help students develop practical skills, a love for cooking, and an understanding of healthy living. 

Role Responsibilities: 

Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and KS5 if applicable).

Teach a broad curriculum, including food preparation, nutrition, health and safety, and culinary techniques.

Prepare students for GCSE exams by delivering high-quality theory and practical lessons.

Maintain a safe and well-organised classroom environment, ensuring all health and safety standards are met.

Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support achievement.

Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities, such as cooking clubs or food competitions.

Role Requirements: 

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.

A degree in Food Technology, Nutrition or a related subject

Strong subject knowledge and a passion for food education.

Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.

Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Have a DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
