About the Role: 

Here at Teaching Personnel We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Food Technology Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Walsall. This role offers an exciting opportunity to inspire students with a love for cooking, nutrition and practical skills while helping them understand the importance of healthy living.

Role Responsbilities: 

• Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 

• Teach a range of topics including food preparation, nutrition and health and safety in the kitchen

• Prepare students for GCSE exams through high-quality theory and practical lessons

• Maintain a safe and organised classroom environment ensuring compliance with health and safety standards

• Assess and monitor student progress providing constructive feedback to support achievement

• Contribute to extracurricular activities such as cooking clubs and food-related competitions

• Work collaboratively with the Design and Technology department to share ideas and resources

Role Requirements: 

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification

• A degree in Food Technology, Nutrition or a related subject

• Strong subject knowledge with a passion for food education

• Excellent classroom management and organisational skills

• DBS on the update service or willingness to obtian one

• Ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities

• Experience teaching at secondary level (KS3/KS4 essential)
