EYFS Teacher -Required in BB1 postcode.

Recent experience required in an EYFS Setting

Qualified Teacher Status is a necessity

Good recent references required to register with Teaching Personnel

A 2-Form entry Primary School located in the BB1 area of Blackburn have approached Teaching Personnel in order to source and supply a Reception Class Teacher to cover a long term sickness in school. The nature of the class teacher's illness is not known and so the school are not entirely sure on whether they will require the temporary member of staff for a term or two. The Head teacher has specifically approached the agency though in order to supply a teacher to start at some point after February half term, preferably someone who has recent experience working alongside the EYFS Curriculum. Due to the nature of the children who arrive in school, the Head teacher is keen to meet the candidates and gain a better understanding of their experiences. Candidates must have good experiences working alongside children with challenging behaviour and also be able to differentiate to meet individual needs.

The school is currently graded as GOOD by Ofsted and there is another teacher who can assist with the planning and assessment aspect of the role in the interim. The children have a good routine already and the class is supported by a well experienced Level 3 TA. Additionally there is another Teaching Assistant who works alongside a child with special educational needs in the class and so you will be expected to tailor planning for this support.

The Head teacher and SLT in school are very accommodating to new and temporary staff, in the past we have had teachers who have enjoyed their experience in school and also commented on the amount of support they received in school. Ofsted also confirmed this in a recent inspection report, clarifying by saying the Head teacher is a warm hearted and approachable person and an inspiring leader. The children arrive in school working below expected age related levels and so there is a huge emphasis on making sure the children progress, particularly with social and communication needs. The school do offer a wide Curriculum in the EYFS and there are different areas of learning which are focused on in the working week. The children will have access to a wide variety of activities which will be planned by the successful candidate, with planning that will show progression.

This is a role that will be filled by the end of the week and so it is important that the applying candidates send through updated CVs ASAP and have references and DBS information readily available.
