Job description

EYFS Teacher – Burnley (BB11)

Full-time | Start September 2026

We’re currently working with a really lovely primary school in the BB11 area of Burnley who are looking to welcome a new EYFS Teacher to their team from September 2026.

This is one of those schools that people speak highly of for a reason. It has a great reputation locally, a supportive leadership team, and a real sense of community. Staff tend to stay because they’re looked after, and there’s a genuinely positive atmosphere across the school. It’s also in a really handy location, so getting there from around Burnley and surrounding areas is straightforward.

About the role

You’ll be joining a friendly Early Years team and taking on a class where you can really make a difference during those important first years of school.

Day to day, you’ll be:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, hands-on learning
  • Creating a calm, welcoming classroom where children feel happy and secure
  • Supporting pupils’ development socially, emotionally and academically
  • Working closely with colleagues and building good relationships with parents

Who this would suit

The school is open to both ECTs and experienced teachers (up to M6). If you’re early in your career, you’ll be well supported. If you’ve been teaching a while, your experience will be valued.

More than anything, they’re looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys working with younger children and understands how they learn
  • Brings energy and ideas into the classroom
  • Is reliable, approachable and a team player
  • Wants to be part of a school community, not just a workplace

What you can expect

  • A welcoming and down-to-earth staff team
  • Supportive leadership who are approachable and fair
  • A school that feels settled and well run
  • Children who are eager to learn and respond well to good teaching

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.
We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
