Job description

Are you a passionate and motivated Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to begin your teaching journey in a supportive and welcoming school?

We are seeking enthusiastic ECTs across Primary and Secondary settings to join forward-thinking schools committed to nurturing talent and supporting teachers at the start of their careers. This role offers the perfect opportunity to develop your teaching practice while making a real difference in the classroom.

Location: Burnley
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £120 - £130 per day until AWR is addressed after 12 working weeks then M1 (ECT scale)
Start Date: September 2026

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Delivering engaging and creative lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Supporting pupils of varying abilities to achieve their full potential
  • Establishing a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Assessing, monitoring, and reporting on student progress
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues, mentors, and senior leaders
  • Taking part in your ECT induction programme with structured support

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or due to achieve QTS
  • A strong passion for teaching and learning
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A willingness to learn, reflect, and develop professionally
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
