Year 1 Teacher
Job description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Year 1 Teacher to join our vibrant and supportive primary school. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate practitioner who is dedicated to inspiring young learners at a key stage of their educational journey.
Start Date: 1st September 2026
Pay: £120 - £150 per day until AWR is addressed and then paid in line with M-Scale of the role.
As a Year 1 Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging, creative lessons in line with the National Curriculum
- Support pupils transitioning from EYFS into Key Stage 1
- Create a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment where every child feels valued
- Assess, track and support pupil progress effectively
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and support staff
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has a secure understanding of the Year 1 curriculum (or EYFS/KS1 experience)
- Demonstrates strong classroom management and high expectations for all pupils
- Is passionate, reflective and eager to contribute to school life
- ECTs are warmly encouraged to apply

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
