EYFS Nurture Support

We are seeking a caring, patient and dedicated Nurture EYFS Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming school community. This rewarding role focuses on supporting children within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), helping to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child feels safe, valued and ready to learn.

Location: Burnley
Salary: £14.25 - £15.50 per hour
Contract Type: Full-time
Start Date: Monday 2^nd November 2026 or ASAP

The Role

As a Nurture EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide targeted support for children who may require additional emotional, social or developmental assistance. You will play a vital role in helping children develop confidence, resilience and positive relationships while supporting their learning and development.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nurturing support to EYFS pupils, both individually and in small groups.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with children, families and staff.
• Support children with emotional regulation, social skills and personal development.
• Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging learning activities.
• Encourage children's independence, confidence and self-esteem.
• Monitor and record progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents where appropriate.
• Help maintain a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
• Support children with additional needs, ensuring they can fully access learning opportunities.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with children within an EYFS setting.
• Demonstrates a nurturing, empathetic and child-centred approach.
• Understands child development and the EYFS Framework.
• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Is patient, resilient and able to respond calmly to challenging situations.
• Can work effectively as part of a team.
• Holds a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
• Has experience supporting children with SEND, speech and language needs, or social and emotional needs (desirable).
