Experienced Year 6 Teacher Needed in Derby
Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
Teaching Personnel are in the process of establishing a relationship with a ‘Good’ school in the DE22 area that are currently in search of a Year 6 teacher. The school feel that their own advertising process did not yield the results that they had hoped for, so are now working with ourselves in an attempt to find the ideal teacher for them. They are being particularly stringent in their interview process to ensure that they can continue to make excellent progress in the school as they have been doing over the last 4 years.
The school moved from ‘Satisfactory’ to ‘Good’ in the last Ofsted inspection and are hoping that they can maintain the progress they are making by hiring outstanding teachers, as the inspector noted ‘Standards in English and Mathematics have been rising steadily in recent years and are now above average at the end of Year 6’. It will be your responsibility as the Year 6 teacher to ensure that all the progress made across the school in the years leading up to the end of KS2 culminate in excellent results.
You will be subjected to an interview and a trial morning in the school in order for you to demonstrate the quality of your teaching as it was also noted in the previous report, ‘Not all of the teaching is yet good or better. Teachers do not always check closely enough on pupils’ understanding in lessons’. For this reason, you will have to exemplify how your teaching is engaging for pupils.
The school are prepared to consider either FQTs or NQTs, their focus on the teachers dedication to improvement. However, previous experience in KS2 is essential.
• Have an enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
• Right to work in the UK
• Experienced working in KS2 – ideally with a Year 6 class
• Be able to provide 2 relevant references
For more information or to apply please contact the East Midlands Primary Branch on 0115 8456405.
