Job description

Exam Invigilators – Secondary Schools (Durham) Flexible, Part-time

Secondary schools throughout Durham are recruiting dependable and professional Examination Supervisors to ensure the effective administration of examinations. This essential position guarantees that examinations are conducted according to official standards, creating an optimal environment for student achievement.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Overseeing students within examination halls and maintaining proper exam protocols
  • Issuing and retrieving examination papers and required materials
  • Delivering clear directions and support to students prior to and throughout examinations
  • Maintaining adherence to examination guidelines and documenting any incidents following established procedures
  • Supporting examination room preparation and cleanup when needed

Candidate profile:

  • Dependable, timely, and maintains professional standards consistently
  • Strong communication abilities and meticulous attention to detail
  • Capacity to stay composed and assertive within formal environments
  • Adaptable and available for examination sessions during school hours
  • Prior invigilation experience is beneficial but not required, as comprehensive training will be delivered

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
