English Tutor

A school in Tameside is seeking an English Tutor to work on a part time basis.

Requirements for this position are as follows:

• QTS or previous experience tutoring English up to GCSE level.
• The ability to actively improve and enhance student attainment, in both English Literature and English Language.
• Being able to prepare students for assessments and examinations.

The school is looking for a highly motivated and experienced English tutor. The role will involve working with students who require support within the subject. Many of these students will struggle to engage with the mainstream process. There may be some expectation to work with students with SEN. Experience working with children who have Dyslexia or Dyspraxia is highly desirable.

Given current circumstances related to the ongoing pandemic, there may be opportunities for this role to move to an online capacity. We welcome applications from individuals who have tutored online during the lockdown period.

It is expected that the tutor will have strong subject knowledge, and be able to work in partnership with school teaching staff to target specific areas of improvement.

Pay for this position will range between GBP18 and GBP25 hourly, dependent on previous experience.

The school is located in Tameside, with easy access from Manchester city centre.
