English Tutor – Newcastle
TP Tutors have an exciting opportunity to support young people across Newcastle who are currently unable to access mainstream education. We are seeking passionate and skilled English Tutors to help pupils develop their literacy skills, build confidence, and re-engage with learning in a supportive environment.
This rewarding role may include working outside a traditional school setting, such as in the home, local libraries, or community venues.
The Role:

Plan and deliver engaging English sessions tailored to individual learning needs.

Support the development of reading, writing, and communication skills.
-
Provide constructive feedback and plan next steps to promote progress.
-
Use pupils’ interests and strengths to inspire motivation and engagement.
-
Apply a range of behavioural and engagement strategies to maintain focus and confidence.
Tutor Requirements:
-
Professional teaching qualifications (QTS) preferred.
-
Experience supporting pupils with SEND and/or SEMH needs.
-
Two professional references covering at least 24 months within the last 10 years.

An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS (or willingness to obtain one via TP Tutors).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
