English Teaching Assistant

- April 2018 start, position expected to continue until July 2018

- Full time English teaching assistant required to facilitate learning in English department

- Work with students in your subject specialism across 11 - 16 age and ability range

- Gain paid experience prior to beginning your teacher training programme in 2018

Our client school is a large, well facilitated secondary school situated in Oldham, bordering the East of Manchester, with excellent accessibility via public transport or road. Since moving to a purpose built site in recent years, there has been a consistent climb in LEA rankings for progress and attainment across both Key Stage 3 and 3. The effective leadership and management has been a contributing factor to recent successes, and were judged to be Good by Ofsted during their most recent visit. The modern facilities throughout the school ensure that students and staff can benefit from state of the art technology to enhance the teaching and learning process.

The ideal applicant will be an English graduate looking to begin a career in education, and gaining the necessary experience working at our client school will enhance teacher training applications. Those with previous experience working as a teaching assistant in a secondary setting will be highly desirable, though school experience isn't a necessity to apply.

The incoming English graduate teaching assistant will benefit from the schools comprehensive NQT programme which will be tailored to the English graduate to ensure suitable and relevant training will be in place. This is an excellent opportunity to gain the necessary skillset and insight before starting a PGCE or similar in 2018.
