English Teacher- Wigan

English Teacher required for a rapidly improving secondary school from April 2018

The Manchester West Secondary branch of Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting an English teacher on behalf of our client secondary school located in Wigan. This is an ideal opportunity for an English teacher looking who is looking to secure new progressive role.

Due to a gap within their English department, the Head teacher of this popular school is looking to appoint an English Teacher from Easter until the end of the academic year initially. There is the possibility of a fixed-term/permanent contract being offered after this dependant upon effectiveness within the role;

  • Full time English Teacher
  • English teaching across KS3 and KS4
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS dependant upon experience (£22,917- £38,633)
  • Potential of a permanent contract

The Head teacher of this popular school wishes to appoint an English teacher who is comfortable delivering up to GCSE English and who can provide engaging lessons to pupils of all abilities. The incoming English teacher will be provided with full support from an experienced English teaching department and will have the privilege of teaching pupils whose behaviour is good and those who show respect for one another and for their teachers.

It is smaller than the average sized secondary school with just over 700 pupils on roll. A large percentage of the pupils are from White British backgrounds. It is situated on the outskirts of Wigan town centre which makes it easily accessible from the surrounding areas. There are also public transport links direct from Wigan town centre and the suburbs of Aspull and Hindley.

The Head teacher is looking to meet with interested candidates at the earliest convenience. Therefore for further information please send an updated CV to Paul via the link below or contact the Manchester West Secondary Branch directly.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
