English Teacher - Salford

Due to an upcoming gap in the department from September 2019, our partner school in Salford are seeking to appoint an English Teacher on a full time temporary basis. The role is initially being offered on a fixed term contract until the end of the academic year, with the opportunity to progress onto a permanent contract following the completion of the placement.

  • Full time Teacher required to start in September 2019
  • Teaching both English Language and Literature up to GCSE level
  • Competitive pay in line with MPS/UPS scale point
  • Employment until the end of the academic year with potential for a permanent contract

Our partner school is a smaller than average 11-16 academy located in the Salford Quays area, close to a tram line for prospective candidates who are on public transport. The school moved to their new multi-million pound and modern campus in 2012, and due to an increased number of students currently enrolling, a restructuring and expansion of staff is now taking place. The academy was graded as 'Good' by Ofsted on their most recent inspection, and have appointed a new principal in January as they take the next steps on their journey to become 'Outstanding'.

"We are looking to appoint an outstanding or potential to be outstanding qualified Teacher of English with high expectations, strong classroom management skills and good subject knowledge. Prospective applicants should have a vibrant personality and be prepared to continually develop their skills to ensure enjoyment and rigour in the classroom. We have a strong team ethos and are looking for a like-minded person to join the department. We would warmly welcome and encourage applications from Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs)." Headteacher.

As an English Teacher at our partner school, applicants should:

  • Have QTS or relevant teaching qualifications
  • Experience teaching both English Literature and Language up to KS4
  • Have an ability to inspire in children a love of literature and language
  • Be able to engage students with well planned, high quality lessons

If you would like to apply for this post as an English teacher, please apply via the link below or send an updated CV to Chris Beckenham at Manchester North Secondary directly, alternatively call on the number provided for further information.
