Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a Secondary School based in Stoke-on-Trent who are looking for an English Teacher to start in January until the end of the academic year.

About the role:

  • 5th January
  • Full-time role until the end of the academic year
  • Paid to scale

As an English Teacher, you will prepare and deliver English Literature and Language lessons across KS3. You will ensure the lessons remain engaging whilst following the national curriculum and putting students in the best position to begin preparing for their GCSE’s. Additionally, you will assess pupils both formally and informally, providing written and live feedback. This will in-turn allow you to identify students who require additional support with English. You will work closely with the Head of Department and support staff to create and implement individualised learning support for these individuals.

What we’re looking for:

  • QTS with strong background in English
  • Experience teaching English Language and Literature across KS3 (teacher training placements included)
  • Confident with behaviour management and following school policies
  • Strong knowledge of the English curriculum and current teaching techniques

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
