Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a secondary school who are looking for an English Teacher to start in January. This is a great opportunity for an ECT looking to start their career within a mainstream school.

About the role:

  • Start-date: 5th January
  • Long-term role until the end of the academic year

As an English Teacher, you will plan and deliver lessons which follow the national curriculum, ensuring they remain up to date and engaging. It is important that the ideal candidate is able to create a supportive and inclusive environment where students are able to foster a love for the subject. You will assess pupils both formally and informally, providing live and written feedback when necessary. Additionally, you will work closely with other members of the department to ensure the curriculum across KS3 and GCSE remains up to date, whilst contributing to the wider school community.

What we’re looking for:

  • QTS with strong background in English
  • Experience teaching across KS3/4 as well as GCSE curriculum (teacher training placements included)
  • Strong knowledge of current teaching techniques and behaviour management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A passion for the subject and ability to create a positive learning environment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
