English teacher (Northampton)
School within a successful trust seeking a teacher of English to join them in September 2019.
- Full-time English teacher required September 2019 start.
- Working with students across Key Stage Three and Key Stage Four with the opportunity to teach A Level.
- Delivering the new English curriculum to pupils, with planning and marking responsibilities
- Pay in line with MPS/UPS (£23,720 - £39,406 per annum)
The school were judged to be 'Good' in their most recent Ofsted inspection and pride themselves on the ambitious, positive learning environment they create for students. The achievement of students is a result of a varied curriculum which allows all to achieve success in their studies. The school boasts excellent new buildings that meet the needs of learning in the 21st Century. It features a state of the art theatre that befits its status as the only Specialist Performing Arts College in Northampton. In the last few years they have been at the forefront of curriculum innovation and now offer students an extensive and relevant curriculum choice.
Progress made in English is described by Ofsted as Good and the subject is a popular choice among Key Stage 5 students. The successful candidate will be teaching English to Key Stage 3 and GCSE Groups on a full time basis with the opportunity for some post 16 teaching. This role will last until the end of the academic year and could potentially be permanent for the right candidate. Experienced teachers and NQT's are welcome to apply for this role - however prior experience teaching English is expected. You must be passionate and knowledgeable about your subject with the ability to teach consistently at an outstanding level.
The English faculty currently consists of eight experienced teachers and dedicated English Graduate Teaching Assistants to support identified pupils to achieve their expected grades. The successful English teacher will work collaboratively with other staff, and will be fully supported throughout the position.
