English Teacher (KS3–KS4) – Secondary School – Manchester

Location: Manchester
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Main Pay Scale 1 to 7 (£32,157 – £48,075 per annum, dependent on experience)

Role Overview:

A forward-thinking secondary school in Manchester is seeking a dedicated English Teacher to inspire and motivate students across KS3 and KS4. You will deliver engaging lessons that develop literacy skills and prepare pupils for GCSE English Language and Literature.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver dynamic English lessons aligned with the national curriculum

  • Differentiate learning to meet all student needs including SEN and EAL

  • Assess and track pupil progress, providing timely feedback

  • Contribute to departmental initiatives, moderation, and extracurricular activities

  • Participate in school-wide literacy development programs

Person Specification:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Passion for English literature and language

  • Commitment to fostering a love of reading and writing in students

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
