English Teacher
Stockport, Greater Manchester

Contract type: Full-time, Temporary in the first instance
Start date: ASAP
Salary: MPS/UPS (£23,720 - £39,406)

We are looking to appoint an ambitious and driven teacher of English to join our partner school excellent staff team. This is an exciting opportunity allowing you to be at the heart of shaping the future success of the school.

We are looking to appoint someone who:

  • Is able to teach Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 English across a range of ability groups
  • Has a passion for teaching and the impact this can have on the lives of young people.
  • Has a range of high quality teaching skills and a commitment to continually strive to improve and develop these skills
  • Is engaged in current issues, ideas and research around secondary education.
  • Is able to set out a coherent educational vision for their subject within the school
  • Is keen to engage students in enriching learning experiences beyond the subject taught.

The school is a smaller than average mixed Catholic secondary school with just over 700 pupils on roll. The school is maintained by Stockport Local Education Authority and is under the trusteeship of the Diocese of Shrewsbury. The school intends to put a Catholic ethos at the centre of all that it does. In recent years the schools examination results has excelled, in 2017 81% of all students achieved grade 9-4 in English. The school are looking for an ICT teacher to join the department and support them on their journey to becoming an outstanding school.
