English Graduate Opportunity

  • Cover Supervisor and Learning Mentor role
  • Full time position in a Leeds Secondary School
  • Daily pay rates of up to £80 (depending on experience)

A large Secondary Academy in Leeds are looking for an English specialist Cover Supervisor who can join the department on a long term basis as soon as possible! The role will involve covering absences within the department, as well as occasionally in other areas of school, and also providing support in English lessons and delivering some 1:1 sessions.

As you will be required to cover full classes you must have some experience of working with Secondary aged pupils, this can be within a school setting or perhaps Youth work, sports clubs, drama groups etc.

This role will provide excellent experience to recent graduates of English who are considering pursuing a career in Secondary teaching, and the school are keen to appoint someone who is ambitious and committed to developing their teaching skills as well as classroom management.

As you may be working in a few different schools each week you must be flexible and adaptable. You must be confident, ambitious have commuted to ensuring pupil safety and adhering to the ethos of the schools you are working in.

As you may be covering different classes throughout the week, you must be flexible and adaptable and able to build up rapport with students quickly.

The school is just a 10 minute bus ride from Leeds city centre so whether you are traveling by car or public transport the school is easy to reach. It has a diverse cohort of pupils and you will therefore have the opportunity to work with students of all abilities and backgrounds.

Pay roll runs weekly and daily pay rates vary between £50-£80 depending on skills and experience.
