Teaching Personnel are working alongside a large mixed comprehensive secondary school in central Bury. Due to a restructure within the English faculty, the school wish to appoint a full time English teacher from January 2020. This position will initially be offered on a temporary basis for one term, with the opportunity for the successful English teacher to secure a permanent position from April 2020.

  • Full-time English teacher required, January 2020 start
  • Working with students across Key Stage Three and Key Stage Four
  • Delivering the new English curriculum to pupils, with planning and marking responsibilities
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS (£23,720 - £39,406 per annum)
  • Large mixed comprehensive secondary school in Bury, accessible via the M66 motorway
  • Both experienced and newly qualified English teachers welcome to apply for this position

"We are working in partnership with Teaching Personnel to source an outstanding English teacher to work within our English faculty for tone term. We wish to appoint the successful English teacher to start in January 2020, or sooner if possible. This full-time position will require elements of collaborative planning and marking and the incoming English teacher will be expected to fully follow the ethos and values of our school." Head Teacher

The school is currently in the process of expansion and the number of pupils that entered in September 2018 was the highest it has been in over twenty academic years. Due to this, the school wish to bolster the English department to ensure class sizes remain small and pupils receive the best education possible.

The English faculty currently consists of eight experienced teachers and dedicated English Graduate Teaching Assistants to support identified pupils to achieve their expected grades. The successful English teacher will work collaboratively with other staff, and will be fully supported throughout the position.

Located in central Bury, our client secondary school can easily be accessed via the M66 Motorway. There are an abundance of public transportation links that lead directly to the school from neighbouring areas Bolton, central Manchester and Rochdale.
