English Teacher (Northampton)

  • Full-time English teacher, required from September 2019 until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of this being extended.
  • Teaching across Key Stage 3 and GCSE
  • Must hold subject specific qualifications within English.
  • Both experienced and newly qualified English teachers are welcome to apply as relevant induction support will be provided.
  • Pay in line with teaching scale point(£23,720 - £39,406 per annum)

English Teaching position available at Northampton based Secondary School! The successful applicant will be required to teach on a full time basis from September 2019. This post is due to last the length of the academic year, however there is likely to be a permanent position available at the end of this initial year for a candidate who shows progress. This is a fantastic opportunity to work at a school who have just achieved their best ever exam results - with nearly every student achieving on average half a grade more than the previous year! Senior Leadership is keen to listen to feedback from both students and staff alike, in order to ensure a collaborative effort to build a truly extraordinary school.

The role will involve teaching English to predominately Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 groups, however if the candidate is capable and interested, there could be some A Level teaching involved. Ofsted has recently described teaching in the English department to be strong, and identified these improvements to be a result of training and support offered by middle leadership. The current department are highly experienced and passionate about delivering high standards of teaching and learning as well as helping colleagues to progress and succeed!
