Job description

English Teacher – Secondary Schools | Wimbledon & Surrounding Areas
Recruiting via Teaching Personnel

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a number of secondary schools across Wimbledon and the surrounding areas to recruit qualified English Teachers for short-term, day-to-day, and longer-term opportunities.

This role is strictly for fully qualified English Teachers with relevant UK secondary school experience. Please do not apply if you do not meet the essential requirements outlined below.


About the Role

  • Teaching English Language and Literature across KS3–KS4

  • KS5 opportunities available depending on experience

  • Planning and delivering engaging, curriculum-aligned English lessons

  • Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback

  • Maintaining strong classroom behaviour and positive learning environments

  • Roles available across Wimbledon, Merton, Kingston, Sutton, and surrounding areas

  • Day-to-day, short-term, and long-term roles available

  • Full-time and part-time opportunities


Essential Requirements
✔️ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – ESSENTIAL
✔️ Degree in English or a closely related subject
✔️ Proven experience teaching English in UK secondary schools
✔️ Strong subject knowledge across Language and Literature
✔️ Confident classroom and behaviour management
✔️ Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Please note: Applications will not be considered from candidates without QTS or relevant UK secondary English teaching experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
