English Teacher

Location: Walsall, Secondary School

Start Date: September 2025 


 

About the role:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join a secondary school in Walsall. The ideal candidate will have a passion for English and the ability to inspire and engage students across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons in line with the national curriculum

  • Motivate and challenge students to achieve their full potential

  • Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and a positive learning environment

  • Assess, record and report on pupils’ progress and attainment

  • Contribute to departmental planning and the wider life of the school

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential

  • Experience teaching English at secondary level

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one

  • ECTs are warmly encouraged to apply

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
