Are you a passionate and engaging English Teacher looking for flexible teaching opportunities in and around Taunton? Whether you’re seeking long-term placements or day-to-day supply, Teaching Personnel is working with a range of local secondary schools and academies in need of high-quality English specialists.

This role is ideal for experienced teachers and ECTs who want to broaden their classroom experience while maintaining control over their work schedule.


The Role:

  • Teach English Language and Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 roles may be available)

  • Deliver well-structured, engaging lessons to mixed-ability classes

  • Support students in developing reading, writing, and analytical skills

  • Adapt quickly to new school environments and build positive relationships

  • Opportunities for longer-term roles and potential permanent placements


What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or relevant secondary English teaching experience

  • Strong subject knowledge and creative lesson delivery

  • Confident classroom management and a supportive teaching style

  • Flexible, reliable, and proactive when working across different schools

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
