English Teacher – Secondary School – Tameside
Full-time | September 2025 Start | £32,916–£51,047 per day

A reputable and ambitious secondary school in Tameside is seeking an inspiring English Teacher to join their team from September. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate English educator to teach across KS3 and KS4, helping students to develop a lifelong appreciation for literature, language, and communication.

Role Overview:
You will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging English lessons aligned to the national curriculum. The department is collaborative and well-resourced, offering opportunities for development and progression.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality English lessons to students aged 11–16.

• Assess, track, and report on student progress in line with department policy.

• Prepare students for GCSE exams and support coursework moderation (where applicable).

• Contribute to the wider life of the school, including literacy initiatives and enrichment opportunities.

• Uphold the school’s values of inclusion, excellence, and high expectations.

Candidate Requirements:

• QTS or PGCE in English (applications from ECTs welcomed).

• Experience teaching English Language and Literature to secondary school pupils.

• Passion for storytelling, creative writing, and literary analysis.

• Strong classroom management skills and high expectations of learners.

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
