A secondary school situated in the Tameside area of Greater Manchester is looking for an English teacher to join them at the start of the spring term on Monday 6th January. The successful English teacher will be joining a highly supportive English department at this large secondary school where the Head of English has advised:
“We are looking for an English teacher to join us for 2 terms starting in January. The English teacher will be teaching up to GCSE level which is important given that the GCSE exams are taking place in May/June. Teaching both Language and Literature, the English teacher should be a specialist teacher experienced in teaching at GCSE level”
As the appointed teacher of English you will be teaching the AQA curriculum at both KS3 and KS4 up to GCSE level. Any experience of teaching AQA English Language and English Literature would be beneficial and highly desirable.
This successful secondary school is situated in the heart of Tameside, making it very easily accessible for any English teachers travelling from the surrounding areas. The school is located close to the local train station making it easy to commute to for those on public transport. For those who commute by car, the school has a very large on site car park which is secure along with other fantastic facilities including a state of the art English department. The local M60 ring road is also closeby making the school accessible for those English teachers travelling from further away.
Highlights of this English Language and Literature teaching position:
- Full time English teacher required starting Monday 6th January
- Duration: 2 terms in the first instance (6th January – 17th July)

- Within commutable distance for those travelling from Oldham, Tameside, East Manchester and Stockport as well as Greater Manchester
- Pay will be dependent upon experience and payscale; ranging between GBP2400 - GBP3000 per month

They are therefore looking for a passionate and strong English teacher who is able to teach top class English lessons across the age and ability range. There is currently a team of 8 English teachers within the average sized English department. The successful English teacher will benefit from collaborating with the whole team as well as sharing resources.
