English Teacher - Stockport

  • Full time English teaching post on a full time basis
  • Pay ranging from £95-£150 per day
  • Excellent support from a thriving English department

Well respected Secondary school in Stockport require an English teacher due to a recent internal promotion within the English department. This is a full time English teaching position across KS3 and GCSE level so you will need to have a proven track record across both key stages.

The school are looking to appoint an inspirational teacher of English who is ideally coming to the end of their teacher training or an English teacher at the beginning of their career looking for progressive opportunities within this thriving department. Commencing in September this will be on an initial introductory period through Teaching Personnel with the option after this of a school based contract.

There will be an expectation from the Head of Department to take on full responsibilities of planning, marking and student assessment in this English post. Large in size with over 1200 students the English department is large with eight full time teachers so you will be provided with plenty of support throughout.

Located in the SK7 post code the school is situated just off the A523 and has regular bus routes for those on public transport. Academically the school is achieving just below their expected Progress 8 targets so there is an expectation for the successful English teacher to make a significant impact on the students taught.

The school are looking to appoint the successful English teacher prior to the summer holidays so you must be in attendance of these. You will be required to provide suitable school based references and be eligible for a fully enhanced DBS certificate.
