Exciting Opportunity for an English Teacher in Sheffield!

 

Are you a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher looking for a rewarding role? Teaching Personnel is thrilled to offer a full-time position for an English Teacher at an Ofsted Good secondary school in Sheffeild. This role is available to start in September for the full academic year, with the potential for permanency based on performance. The salary for this role is £30,000 to £46,525 per annum, in line with PayScale.

 

Role Overview:

As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for inspiring and educating students in the English language and literature, fostering their love for reading, writing, and critical thinking. You will plan, deliver, and assess English lessons in accordance with the national curriculum, ensuring that all students receive a high-quality education tailored to their needs.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging and interactive English lessons covering a variety of topics, including literature analysis, creative writing, grammar, and language skills development.
  • Literature Exploration: Introduce students to a range of literary genres, texts, and authors, encouraging them to explore and appreciate literature while developing their analytical and interpretative skills.
  • Writing Skills: Support students in honing their writing abilities across different genres, offering guidance on structure, style, and expression to help them become confident and competent writers.
  • Language Study: Teach grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary, helping students to enhance their language proficiency and communication skills.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Regularly assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their learning journey and encourage improvement.
  • Behaviour Management: Establish a positive and inclusive learning environment by implementing effective behaviour management strategies that promote respect, engagement, and participation.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues within the English department and across the school to share best practices, resources, and ideas to enhance teaching and learning.

 

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for English language and literature.
  • Previous experience teaching English at the secondary level, preferably within a UK school setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Commitment to fostering a love for reading, writing, and critical thinking among students.
