English Teacher – Secondary School in Newport

Location: Newport, South Wales
Start Date: January 5th (Full Academic Year)
Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay: £166.32 – £230 per day (depending on experience and pay scale)

Role Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the national curriculum
  • Create interactive learning resources to enhance student progress
  • Foster classroom discussions that develop communication and critical thinking skills
  • Assess and monitor student performance, providing constructive feedback
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and progress
  • Collaborate with colleagues to improve curriculum delivery
  • Participate in departmental meetings and professional development
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Enhanced DBS check
  • Two professional references
  • Right to work in the UK
    (Minimum one year of teaching experience preferred, but NQTs are welcome to apply.)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
