English Teacher – Monmouthshire 

Location: Monmouthshire
Hours: 8.30am – 3.30pm
Pay: £166.32 - £230 per day (dependent on experience and pay scale)
Contract: Full-time, until the end of the academic year
Start date: October 2025

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a dedicated and passionate English Teacher in Monmouthshire to join one of our thriving partner secondary schools. This is a fantastic opportunity to teach within a supportive English department that consistently drives academic excellence and provides outstanding opportunities for both staff and students.

The successful applicant will teach Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 English on a full-time basis. You will be joining a forward-thinking school that prides itself on pupil progress, high standards of teaching, and strong behaviour management policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons in line with the national curriculum.

  • Teach and inspire pupils across KS3 and KS4 to achieve their full potential in English Language and Literature.

  • Create stimulating and inclusive learning environments that promote confidence and achievement.

  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support development.

  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities and learning styles.

  • Collaborate with colleagues within the English department to share best practices and develop teaching resources.

  • Maintain excellent communication with parents, staff, and students to support positive learning outcomes.

  • Contribute to departmental meetings, professional development sessions, and whole-school initiatives.


Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – or working towards it.

  • Previous teaching experience is desirable (minimum 1 year preferred), but ECTs/NQTs are welcome to apply.

  • Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service (or willingness to apply).

  • Ability to provide two recent references.

  • Right to work in the UK.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
